Bangladesh's Ministry of Religious Affairs has released its official roadmap for the Hajj 2027 season (1448 AH), setting out a detailed timetable of deadlines for prospective pilgrims and service providers. The ministry has asked intending pilgrims to complete their registration by September 26, 2026.

According to a release issued by the ministry's Hajj-1 Branch, the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah announced the Hajj 2027 schedule at a ceremony in Jeddah on May 29, before handing it to the religious affairs ministers of participating countries. Bangladesh's Religious Affairs Minister, Kazi Shah Mofazzal Hossain, attended the programme, where Saudi Assistant Minister for Hajj and Umrah Dr Al Hassan bin Yahya Al Manakhrah formally handed over the roadmap.

A timetable built around the Masar Nusuk platform

The roadmap places Saudi Arabia's digital Masar Nusuk platform at the centre of preparations. According to the release, the transfer of Saudi-side expenses to the e-wallet of the Masar Nusuk platform will run from July 15 to December 24, 2026.

The process of signing agreements for overall service packages, including tents, accommodation in Makkah and Madinah, catering and transportation through Masar Nusuk, will begin on July 29, 2026 and continue until January 23, 2027. Pilgrims' information must be uploaded to the Masar Nusuk system between August 14, 2026 and January 28, 2027.

Agreements with the airlines designated to carry Hajj pilgrims, along with the completion of related documentation in the system, are to be finalised between July 29 and November 8, 2026.

Key dates for pilgrims

The roadmap lays out a clear sequence of milestones leading up to the pilgrimage. The bilateral Hajj agreement between Bangladesh and Saudi Arabia is scheduled to be signed on November 8, 2026. The issuance of Hajj visas will begin on January 28, 2027, and Hajj flight operations are scheduled to start on April 8, 2027.

The Hajj itself is expected to be observed on May 15, 2027, corresponding to 9 Dhul Hijjah, subject to the sighting of the moon. The ministry has urged all concerned parties to complete Hajj-related activities in line with the announced schedule. Officials note that adhering to the timeline is essential because each stage, from contracting to visa issuance, depends on the previous one being completed on time.

Part of a wider early-planning push

Bangladesh is among several countries moving early on Hajj 2027 arrangements after Saudi Arabia urged authorities to begin preparations without delay. Saudi Arabia has unveiled a series of reforms for the 2027 season, including an integrated service model that combines accommodation, transport and catering into unified packages, and a compulsory training programme for personnel working in Hajj affairs offices.

The early release of national roadmaps reflects a broader shift toward longer planning horizons. By fixing registration, contracting and documentation deadlines more than a year in advance, authorities aim to reduce the last-minute pressures that have affected past seasons and to give pilgrims more time to prepare financially and practically.

Practical tips for prospective pilgrims

Bangladeshi pilgrims hoping to perform Hajj in 2027 should register before the September 26, 2026 deadline rather than waiting until the final days, as early registration helps avoid processing bottlenecks. Passports should be checked well in advance to ensure they remain valid through the season. Intending pilgrims are also advised to keep their personal and contact details accurate, since this information must be uploaded to the Masar Nusuk system, and to follow announcements from the Ministry of Religious Affairs and licensed agencies for any updates to the schedule. Setting aside funds ahead of the contracting deadlines can also help families manage the cost of accommodation, transport and catering packages.
